Livestock Sales Reports - Dalmally

United Auctions sold 561 cattle of all classes at their recent show & sale held at Dalmally Auction Mart.  Cattle sold in keeping with current levels and a good show of stock of all ages sold to the usual strong force of buyers present.  Bullocks sold to average £646.45 per head or 213 pence per kilo (- £37.55 per head or -12 pence per kilo).  Heifers levelled out at £529.06 or 194 pence per kilo (- £10.18 per head or -5.15 pence per kilo). Mr William Cameron, Keith Judged the various classes and his awards were as follows:  Autumn Born Bullock: 1st & 3rd = M/s MacInnes, Ruaig, Tiree; 2nd = M/s MacVicar, Lephinchapel.  Autumn Born Heifer: 1st & 2nd = M/s MacVicar; 3rd = Mr A Ritchie, Barbreck.  Spring Born Bullock: 1st & 2nd = M/s MacVicar; 3rd = M/s Bennie, Merkins. Spring Born Heifer: 1st & 2nd = M/s MacVicar.  Champion = M/s MacInnes – Autumn Born Bullock.  Reserve Champion = M/s MacVicar – Spring Born Heifer.

United Auctions (Friday 26 October 2018) held a sale of 1934 Lambs & Sheep at Dalmally Auction Mart.  All classes of stock met with a keen enquiry with Lambs averaging £33.69 (+ £5.45 per head on the year).  The entry of lambs consisted mainly of smaller long keeping sorts.  Ewes maintained recent rates.
